Bio: Mark Lynch.
Born sometime during the last century, Lynch, who failed miserably at school, went on to fail miserably as a national serviceman in the Australian Army.
Upon leaving, he joined Qantas as a flight attendant, where he stayed for 19 years.
He started having his cartoons published in the now defunct, ‘Bulletin’ magazine.
From there he went on to become the Editorial cartoonist for The Australian newspaper.
Leaving cartooning for a decade allowed him to open a restaurant in Sydney’s Paddington for 11 years.
Back to doing what he does best, his cartoons now appear worldwide, translated into Swedish, German, and Spanish. His cartoons have received over 50 National and international awards, and have over 10 million hits on the German site, ‘Toonpool.’
He has authored 10 books, the last 3 on sporting quotes and cartoons, published by HarperCollins.
He also currently has 60 greeting cards in the market place published by ‘Art for Arts sake.’
Married to Jennifer, he lives in Sydney with two teenage sons.
