Yearly forecast - Chinese New Year (KF)

2018 The Year of the Dog!

by Neil Somerville

The start of the Chinese New Year, the Year of the Dog, will be celebrated by many millions around the world and it promises to be a significant one.

Just as dogs are well-known for their defensive natures, defence will be a key issue with some tricky and tense moments. However, many positive changes will also be seen with exciting new developments set to benefit mankind. Dog years are progressive with causes to be championed and wide-reaching effects. For many, there will be good chances to be had. To see how you will fare, look up the animal ruling your year of birth. Each Chinese year begins in late January or early February – so if you were born around this time do check the actual year dates to find out which sign you were born under.

With charm, style and a friendly manner, Rats get on well with most. They are great at spotting opportunities and have good skills and judgment. Rats like company and particularly value family and social life.

A year of good chance has Rats benefitting from opportunities and ways to make greater use of strengths. In work, many will be able to successfully build on their position or now move to a role which better suits their talents. This is very much a time to keep alert for openings that appeal. Creative endeavours are also favoured with the skills and ideas of many well-received. Personal interests can also develop well with new activities and additional skills opening up useful possibilities. While income may increase, outgoings need to be watched. Considerable spending on home is likely and large purchases need careful consideration and costing. Rats also need to keep lifestyle in balance, giving time to loved ones and friends. If too busy or preoccupied, Rats could face a few tricky moments. Rats take note. Enjoy the year but give attention to others, sharing thoughts and encouraging joint activities.

Tip for the year: Use chances well but keep lifestyle in balance. Stay well-organised and draw on help and advice available.

This is no year to be stubborn or resistant to change. In work extra pressures could arise but with the chance to extend duties. What is accomplished can be significant as later opportunities arise.  To help prospects, Oxen should take advantage of training and chances to network and raise profile. Oxen need to watch spending and give extra attention to financial paperwork. Travel prospects are excellent. Relations with others can also bring great pleasure. For the unattached significant romance is possible, with some marrying or settling down with another.
